The experience is real.
So are the results.
Our experience
Strategy, execution, and everything that comes next — from the team that stays.
Rubix is not a management company running day-to-day operations with little strategy behind them. And we’re not a consulting firm that hands you a solution and walks away. We sit at the intersection of both.
We are the team that stays — through strategy, through execution, through what comes next — always thinking ahead, always measuring what matters, always improving.
This isn’t perspective from the sidelines. It’s insight from the inside. And it’s why our strategies translate into real-world results.
The team
The people behind the thinking.
One of the most important differences at Rubix is who shows up. Our clients work directly with senior professionals who bring deep expertise across commercial real estate, hospitality, and amenity operations.
You are never handed off to junior account teams after the deal is signed. You get focused, high-level partnership from people who understand your business because they’ve led it, built it, and operated it.

Founders
Senior people, on your account.

Jacob Bates
Co-Founder
Jacob brings 25 years of commercial real estate experience spanning asset management, flex office, and occupier strategy. As CEO of CommonGrounds Workplace, he scaled the portfolio to 1 million square feet across 19 markets while raising $140 million. As Managing Director and Head of Americas Flex at JLL, he built one of the industry’s leading flex office and experience management platforms. He has advised Fortune 500 companies including Nike, Unity Technologies, and Cigna on portfolios exceeding 20 million square feet — and has been involved in billions of dollars in real estate transactions across more than 70 countries.

Mike Flanagan
Co-Founder
Mike has spent more than 30 years building and running hospitality-led amenity businesses inside commercial real estate. He co-founded LifeStart in 1991 and led it as CEO for nearly three decades, growing the network from 23 sites to 100 and some 500 professionals before its 2020 acquisition by Arch Amenities Group (CI Capital) — where he stayed on as Chief Growth Officer, owning strategy, innovation, sales and marketing through both organic growth and M&A, then advised the group on portfolio relationships and Canadian expansion. He also co-founded Momentum Health, an end-to-end platform tying employee health behaviors to insurance premiums and HSA incentives, acquired as part of the LifeStart transaction. Today he is CRO at Proximity, a hospitality-infused operating platform for office environments, and a Forbes Business Council member. At Rubix he leads amenity consulting and development — building strategies fitted to each asset’s identity rather than a generic template, with a focus on revenue optimization and hospitality training.

Scott Anderson
Co-Founder
Scott is an operator and technologist with deep expertise in real estate management, software engineering, and workplace optimization. As President and COO of CommonGrounds Workplace, he led the company through complex operational transformations — negotiating out of over $100 million in lease liabilities and reducing annual expenses by $2 million. His background spans roles at Cigna, Qube Global Software, and Cad Management Limited, where he built custom technology systems, managed enterprise IT budgets, and optimized operations at scale. Scott holds a degree in software engineering from Drexel University with international study in artificial intelligence.
The Rubix Collective
Specialists we bring in when the asset needs them.
A bench of independent practitioners — brand, design, marketing, fitness, underwriting, furniture, technology — assembled per engagement rather than carried as overhead.
Closing the Experience Gap
Experience isn’t a one-time investment. It’s value creation — and a powerful driver of asset performance.
Let’s unlock it, together.
